Young Ukrainian men who recently received permission to leave the country are obliged to defend their homeland and not travel to Germany — declared German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, according to a report summarized in Hungary by Index.

Speaking at the German-Ukrainian Economic Congress in Berlin, the Chancellor said he wanted young Ukrainian men to “serve in their own country’s army” instead of going to Germany. Merz added that he had “asked President Zelensky to ensure this happens.”
The Chancellor also confirmed earlier plans to withdraw financial benefits from Ukrainian refugees — the same benefits received by poor German citizens. Instead, Ukrainian refugees will receive a lower allowance provided to asylum-seekers, Unian reported.
Reading this statement, one question immediately came to mind: Is there any limit to shamelessness? Why?
1. A significant portion of young (and not-so-young) Ukrainians fully understand that this is not their war — it’s the globalists’ war. And these young Ukrainians — quite understandably — do not want to fight for the interests of the so-called “deep state.” Nor do they want to die, because marching into battle against the Russians is, to put it mildly, not exactly a life insurance policy.
2. Isn’t it interesting that ten years ago, when “Syrians” — many of whom came from entirely different cultural backgrounds, followed different customs, practiced a different religion, and did not speak German — began moving westward, the Germans were anything but dismissive? On the contrary: Chancellor Merkel outright encouraged illegal migrants. She told them, “Wir schaffen das” — “We can do it.”
Angela Merkel’s infamous line was delivered on August 31, 2015, at a CDU party meeting in Berlin, reaffirming that Germany could handle the massive wave of migrants flooding toward the heart of Europe. They did not handle it — but that’s a topic for another paragraph. What matters here is that migrants from different cultures, speaking different languages, often Muslim, typically unskilled and not exactly eager to work, were welcomed by Germany.
But young Ukrainian men are not. Makes sense?
3. And by the way — how exactly is Zelensky supposed to legally comply with the Chancellor’s request? Or do the Western champions of “rule of law” suddenly not care?
